Nicholas Camp Sr., the son of John and Camp, baptized April 1597 Nazing, Essex, England, died 1706 at New Milford, Ct. He married 1st Sarah ( ), who died 6 September 1645 at Milford, Ct. in child bed after delivering twins. She was the first adult to die in Milford. He married 2nd, 1646 Edith or Eady Tilley, the widow of John Tilley. He married 3rd, 14 July 1652 Katherine Thompson, the widow of Anthony Thompson. Nicholas was a freeplanter, having lot #50, 6 acres 1 rod and 20 poles. Nicholas Camp came from Nasing, Essex Co., England to Plymouth, Ma. in 1630. He went to Wethersfield, and later to Milford, Ct. and settled. In the church records, signed by P. Prudden, Pastor, is: "Persons uniting with the church. Nicholas Camp, Senior, March 12, 1643. Sarah, his wife, joined August 4, 1644. (Note-opposite her name is this statement; "She died in childbed, September 6, 1645, being the last day of the week in the morning, and was buried in the evening in my garden, having been well delivered of two sonnes upon the second of the same month.")
